Christian has managed some of the largest application security programmes in the world for financial services institutions. He has sat on various board risk committees, set enterprise wide IT security standards and worked with regulators in the UK, US and Singapore. He has managed vendors, budgets and teams.
Christian’s security research has been featured by news organisations such as Forbes and Reuters and at industry leading IT security conferences such as Black Hat and DEF CON.
Christian co-founded and ran Greece’s largest IT security conference – AthCon for 4 years and developed it from a conference with a handful of people in attendance to an internationally known conference with upwards of 600 IT security professionals and large corporate sponsors like Microsoft and Symantec. AthCon attracted a tremendous amount of media exposure from all Greek national TV channels and news papers.
Christian has collaborated and sat on various OWASP committees and working groups. He has co-authored papers with the European Network Information Security Agency (ENISA) for secure mobile development and currently co-authoring a paper on secure mobile payments with ENISA.
Christian is also an avid front to back programmer and UNIX sysadmin – Python is the language du jour however, he is fluent in PHP, C, x86 assembly, node.js including HTML5 technologies such as REST, websockets & Ajax. He has developed security centric kernel modules for the Linux kernel and has administered Unix (AIX, SGI, Solaris) and Linux (all flavours – Azure/AWS hosted) servers.
Outside of IT security, Christian also advises two amazing blockchain startups – a blockchain PaaS platform and a institutional quality white label digital currency trading platform.
